„East meets West meets East. From a country that no longer exists“ (Try-out Show)
In her solo show, stand up comedian Janka Partisanka turns big questions about East and West into sharp, funny stories from everyday life. Born in the GDR and raised in Eastern Germany, she spent a high school year in the States, just to learn Russian in order to rebel against her parents—and then went all the way, ending up living in Russia with a Russian husband, their children and a superstitious mother-in-law.
Now she’s raising bilingual kids in Jena who mostly speak to her when the Wi-Fi stops working. Between missing shoes, homework, social media algorithms, and the endless dust in her apartment, Janka shares what life really looks like when history, family chaos, and cultural confusion all live under one roof.
Personal, original, and unexpectedly funny, this is a show about identity, everyday disasters, and the strange comedy of growing up in one world and living in another.
